Baby Girl Nursery & Homemade Shelves in the house

Lots of things have been going on around the Just Cherish Today household - I've had hubby build us some shelves - and we put them in our dining room, and Miss Taylor's room. Sadly, they aren't fully decorated yet, so I can't show you any pictures of them completed, but it's super fun! :)



This is the shelf in Taylor's room - she's got a little mini-collection of Jim Shore going on, and if my mother-in-law has anything to do with it, it will keep getting bigger so mother-in-law if you are reading this, we have the room :) 

We also added an angel picture in Taylor's room - my hubby was persistent that she have an angel in her room, so for Christmas, Miss Taylor got this - an Angel Picture & Frame.

I keep giving you guys little sneak peaks into Taylor's room - to be honest, It's not completely finished, but when it is, I'll have all the pictures posted. We still have to get a rocker, and a toy chest, and a new actual dresser for her room.

The Brag Blogger

Recently, I was informed that some think my blog is a brag blog.

At first, I was a little outraged, but reality sunk in a bit. It kind of kept me away from blogging, and that's why I haven't been posting as much.

We all have our stories, and we all sure do love to share them. Is it so wrong that I am so proud of all my little family accomplishments and that I love to share them?

Is it so wrong that I am proud of my 5 month baby girl?

Is it so wrong that I have strong feelings about certain issues that I ACTUALLY care to voice them?

Should I feel bad for all the things going GREAT in my life...

I don't think so. Sorry, if that offends anyone.

This is my blog. It's called Just Cherish Today - and if I can't cherish the little things in my life and everything that brings me happiness, then I would rather not blog at all.

I think in a way, all bloggers are somewhat of happy and proud braggers. If we were depressed, or weren't proud of anything in our lives, I doubt we blog, right?

toddlers and tiaras

Has anyone seen that show on directv oklahoma city called Toddlers and Tiaras? It is so disturbing, but I can’t stop watching it at the same time. It’s all about these young girls and their crazy moms who are living vicariously through them. They take the term “stage mom” to the extreme. The girls are all in beauty pageants, because, according to the moms, the girls like it. But, they so obviously don’t enjoy it at all. They want to play like a child, but instead they are having to practice walking the runway, or perfect their talent, or not get their hair and makeup messed up. It’s so crazy that I almost have to think it is fake because how could any mom be that psychotic and not realize that the whole point of the show is to show how crazy she is. If it is real, I feel sorry for those girls because they are going to be so screwed up about themselves with moms like that. It is just sick really.

One of the things I'm constantly in search for is a good skin treatment. I do love to get some facials but they can be pretty costly. Sometimes this cost is something I am willing to pay. Since I have had Taylor - I am slacking in the sleep department and have been noticing dark spots underneath my eyes. Decorating Shoe Boxes

I got this idea from Crystal at Balanced Moms - and I sorta fell in love with it. Technically, my box isn't as great as hers but I enjoyed doing it so much - that I'm sure the more I do it, I'll get better.

I've been wandering around on the hunt looking for some cute boxes for Taylors room to store items in such as wipes, and a few toys that she can't use yet. When I say I'm on the hunt, I mean they had to be the perfect color to match her purple room :) I'm an organizing freak when it comes to stuff like this so not having anything was driving me crazy. Well, when I saw Crystal do it, I was hooked and knew I wanted to do it for Taylor's room.

I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics and picked out the color (I went plain this time) next time, I'll throw in some adorable prints to play off the purple.  . . and voila - this is what I came up with :) 

Nevermind the protracter thingy and the drill- hubby is building us some shelves - which I will post later :)

Stored the wipes in the box - and placed the box underneath the changing table :)

Fake Eyelashes. . .

So recently I've been introduced to fake eyelashes - and oh how, I love them. This is my first time with fake eyelashes but they literally take like 10-20 minutes to have them put in professionally.

Since this was my first time getting fake eyelashes put in, I went with a natural look - so that made my eyelashes a little thicker.  However, I have an appointment in two weeks to get them a bit longer!  I'm totally in love with them now. I go to a lady name Kirsten at the Don Francos Salon in Grand Blanc, MI (for all my local friends who want to get them done) - She is so darling- She even has created her beauty line which I will be sharing with you all soon! 

Fake Eyelashes are $20.00 with her and they last between 1-2 weeks. I've had mine in for about a week now and haven't lost a lash yet. **Note, they do fall out with your natural lashes so thats why they say 1-2 weeks***

One of the things that I am constantly looking for a good deal on is car insurance rates. It's quite annoying every six to 12 months when my car insurance rates are going up - just like everything else in this country. I like the fact that I can go online and do those simulator type car insurance rates - you know where they basically give you a free quote without having to deal with someone on the phone. My sister and I decided to start a home-based consulting business a couple of years ago and it has been absolutely amazing. I love working from home and being able to interact with my kids all day long as well as get a lot of housework done it is also really nice having my sister as a business partner. She deals with all the logistical stuff like that taxes and payroll and the Clear wireless internet while I'm more of the creative behind our business. Our client really seem to be responding to our style and business is going better than I think either of us ever expected it to be at this point. It's just nice having something on our own that we have full ownership over and also that we can be mothers while at the same time being businesswomen. I know people say it's impossible to do it all but I feel like my sister and I are living examples of what it takes to do most everything all at once!
